Porcelain Tile - About as Tough a Floor as You Can Buy

Porcelain is fired at a higher temperature from a denser clay than standard ceramic, which leaves it less than 0.5% porous - effectively waterproof - and harder than granite, rated for commercial-level traffic. Modern porcelain comes in wood-look planks, marble-look slabs, concrete-look squares, and textured outdoor-rated finishes, which means you can get the look of nearly any natural material without the upkeep that comes with the real thing.

Porcelain doesn't forgive an uneven subfloor - especially in large-format and plank shapes, where even 1/8" of dip will telegraph through. We laser-level every floor, use leveling clips on every install, and back-butter each plank for full mortar coverage.

We also use the right tools for the material. Standard wet-saw blades dull quickly on porcelain, so we run rim-segmented diamond blades and a porcelain-rated grinder wheel for clean cuts at outlets, vents, and corners.
