A practical, fully waterproof option

Sheet vinyl has been around for decades, but today's product looks nothing like the kitchen floor you might remember from a grandparent's house. Artisan Custom Flooring installs sheet vinyl across The Denver Metro Area in kitchens, laundry rooms, mudrooms, bathrooms, and commercial facilities.

Because it installs in large continuous sheets, there are few or no seams for water to find its way through - exactly what you want anywhere spills, splashes, or mopping happen on a regular basis.

Where sheet vinyl beats LVP and tile

Sheet vinyl isn't trying to mimic hardwood - it's built to be the lowest-maintenance, most practical floor available, and in the rooms below that's usually what homeowners actually want.

  • Laundry rooms - one continuous sheet, no seams for leaks to find
  • Small bathrooms - waterproof at a lower cost than most alternatives
  • Mudrooms - stands up to snow, road salt, and muddy boots
  • Basement bathrooms - keeps total project cost down
  • Commercial spaces - healthcare, schools, and daycares, using Forbo Marmoleum or Polyflor safety vinyl

Brands we install

We carry Armstrong, Mannington, Tarkett, Forbo Marmoleum, Polyflor, and Altro safety flooring. For most residential jobs, mid-range Armstrong or Mannington sheet vinyl delivers strong durability without a steep price. For commercial and healthcare work, Forbo's bacteriostatic Marmoleum and Polyflor's slip-resistant safety vinyl are the standard we reach for.

Installation

Sheet vinyl looks simple but takes real skill to install well - rolling out a 12-foot sheet, cutting it tight around toilets and walls, and bonding it without a trapped air pocket takes practice most DIYers don't have. We use full-spread adhesive or a perimeter install depending on the product, and we heat-weld seams on safety vinyl for genuine commercial-grade water containment.

Sheet Vinyl Flooring - frequently asked questions

For a small bathroom, often yes - one continuous sheet means no joints for water to work into. LVP tends to be the better fit for larger open rooms where individual plank definition matters.

Good residential sheet vinyl runs 15 to 20 years. Commercial sheet vinyl with heat-welded seams can go 25-plus years even under heavy daily use.

Sometimes - it depends on whether the existing floor is flat, well-bonded, and not too deeply embossed. We'll check on-site and recommend skim-coating, removal, or a direct overlay.

No - Marmoleum is natural linoleum, made from linseed oil, jute, and wood flour. It's bacteriostatic and biodegradable, which is why hospitals and schools favor it.
